My Life with Layla: Mother’s Day Special
Wishing everyone a happy Mother’s Day.
Being a mother has been the most challenging and rewarding experience of my life. I strive to do my best while playing Uno so you can imagine the pressure I felt when I learned I was going to be a mom. As a perfectionist, I always want to do my best but when it comes to parenting it seems my best just isn't good enough. After a couple of failed party attempts and a few doses of reality, I realized I'll never be good enough for such a precious human being. Luckily for my stress levels, I've learned to accept my best.
In honor of Mother’s Day, I wrote a short poem to describe both the pressures and joy of motherhood.
”As your mom I just want you to know
It's a really big responsibility helping you grow
I may not be perfect but I'm trying my best
The day you were born I knew I was blessed”
